Question: I would like to know if someone can pray and make dua to Allah along with the 5 daily prayers, how and when can they do it?

Answer: Yes, along with the performance of the five daily salaah, one can pray and make dua to Allah. In fact, one should always turn to Allah in supplications, and ask for his/her needs to be fulfilled. There is no fixed time for duas to be made, they can be made at anytime. With respect to the manner in which the dua can be made, it is evident in the traditions of the Prophet (s.a.s) that when one wishes to ask Allah for anything, he should raise both hands to the level of the chest, with the inside of the palms facing his face and then make dua. After the dua, he should wipe his face with his hands.
