Question: Can two persons join together to buy a sheep for Eid-ul-adha? Someone told me it is not allowed, they said one sheep to one person, the cost of the sheep is $1200TT.

Answer: Two persons can buy one sheep together, however, the qurbani would be done on behalf of only one person. Two persons cannot share in one sheep or goat for the sake of qurbani. One sheep would suffice for only one person. If one does not possess the amount to take a share or purchase an animal (goat or sheep), then qurbani would not become compulsory upon him/her.
