Question: Can you tell me the criteria for someone doing the qurbani?

Answer: Qurbani becomes essential upon a person who is a Muslim and is not a slave. He is required to be in residence and not a traveller, and must possess the means during the three days of Qurbani (Eid ul Adha) to either to take a share in a large animal or can purchase a small animal like that of a sheep or a goat. When a person fulfils all these conditions then Qurbani becomes essential upon him/her.
