Question: What is the ruling of putting Quran writing on your car or such writing that contains the word "Allah"?

Answer: The words of the Holy Quran are great and sacred and must be respected at all times, regardless of where it is written. The same goes for the word Allah.

Having said this, it must be understood that things which are known to be symbols of Islam should not be used in a manner that are subjected to styles and fashions. At present, it has become a style and a fashion that people inscribe different writings and words on their vehicles. Before now, it was never a custom for them to do this, however, it has now become a fashion for many.

Taking this into consideration, I do not see it as appropriate for one to write Quranic verses and other words bearing the name of Allah on vehicles, since it is lowering and demeaning these glorious and respected words to the level of the common styles and fashions of others. This act reduces the value of these sacred words and likens them to the ordinary words of men.
