Question: Is it permissible for muslims to admire chirstmas lights?
Answer: Lights on their own can be admired since they are beautiful when lighted. However, when they are used to decorate trees, homes and other things which are all connected to the celebration of the Christmas festival, it will not be permissible for one to enjoy them and show signs of happiness upon seeing them.
The reason for this is that the festival of Christmas is one which is totally unislamic and it is one which is associated with kufr and disbelief. Everything that is connected to Christmas are all against the sacred shariah.
As such, it will not be permissible for a Muslim to enjoy, be happy, or have a high regard or favour for anything that is associated with the celebration or festival of Christmas.
